It is Canada’s 153rd Birthday. A fairly young nation when we consider the ages of other countries. Yet, despite its young age, Canada has experienced a lot culturally, geographically, and politically. While it is a good time to reflect on the highs and lows of the nation, I am choosing to focus on the interesting.
For instance, did you know that Hudson’s Bay Region has less gravity than the rest of the planet?
“The only person for whom the house was in any way special was Arthur Dent, and that was only because it happened to be the one he lived in.” Douglas Adams, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
I kinda feel what Arthur was feeling this week. We have jumped between countries once again and are once again in quarantine. I feel like the Canadian-United States border is the location of the new Hyperspace Express Route and our family life has been scheduled for demolition. I am not sure which side to be on. My husband’s job is on one side of the border and our house and my daughter’s school are on the other side. It makes day-to-day family life… interesting.
Vampires of Moscow was published in October 2020. In this paranormal romance suspense ebook (18+), Saskia, a reporter for The Blood Web Chronicle, will do whatever it takes to find her story, including getting close to the Russian vampires, Konstantin and Lukka. In a world where the paranormal community remains hidden and wild, the chronicle publishes exposé to help govern the ungoverned, to protect those victimized, and for Saskia to find her missing sister.
I love a fairytale retelling, and thanks to my family, I have another avenue to enjoy them in. K-dramas! The first one I watched, which is how I learned to love Korean media translations of fairytales and folktales, was by watching Cinderella and Four Knights. Eun Ha Won, played by Park So Dam, is the typical Cinderella with an evil stepmother and sister. But that is where the best twist to the tale occurs, she is not waiting to be saved by a knight in shining armour, Eun Ha Won is saving up to go to college and follow her mother’s dream to become a teacher.

Hi, I’m Angela. I love reading and exploring new places, which works out well as my family continues to move around the world. I prefer cuddling up with a fantasy, science fiction, or mystery adventure, or any mashup of them. My debut novel, Veiled Shadows, is the first instalment in the River Run Series.
